COOK JOB DESCRIPTION
Shifts start between 5:30 and 8 am, perfect for early risers. Because we finish seating guests by 2 pm, all shifts end no later than 3 pm.
Scheduling is generally flexible. Because weekends and holidays are the busiest times, we do ask that you are available those days. Egg Harbor is closed Christmas Day and Thanksgiving, and open late (8am) on New Year’s Day. We do not honor request offs for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day.
Basic Job Skills
We are looking for people who enjoy working in a team environment, who are responsible and trustworthy, prompt, reliable and self-motivated.
Cooks are expected to be: comfortable using a POS system; able to read in English, able to communicate verbally clearly, comfortable working in a fast paced environment, able to follow recipes, committed to safe knife handling procedures, capable of using various cooking methods, dedicated to providing a clean work environment, able to lift boxes up to 50 lbs., able to properly operate various kitchen equipment, able to inspect food upon delivery and before preparation, able to understand weights and measurements for cooking and preparation. Cooks should have an upbeat energy level and be able to work many hours on their feet. Cooks must maintain a positive attitude at all times, be flexible in changing situations, be eager to learn multiple stations, practice basic personal hygiene, be committed to safe food handling procedures, acquires Illinois Food handlers permit (If applying in IL), be committed to company standards and policies.
